Description

Timur was a Turkish conquerorchiefly recognised for the cruelty of his defeats from India and Russia to the Mediterranean Sea and for the artistic achievements of his kingdom. After participating in Genghis Khan's son Changtai's movement in Transoxania, he became associated to Turkicized Barlas ethnic group which was a Mongol generation that had moved in Transoxania. So Timur progressed in what was known as the Chagathai sovereignty. After Amir Kazgan, the present king in 1357, had lost his life, Timur confessed his faithfulness to the khan of proximate Kashghar, Tughlaq Temür, who had attacked Transoxania's current city, Samarkand, in 1361.
