Affectionately known as 'Holy Mother', Sri Sarada Devi, the godly wife of Sri Ramkrishna, was born on 22nd December 1853 in an impoverished Brahmin family in Jayrambati, a village connecting Kamarpukur in West Bengal. Her father, Ramchandra Mukhopadhyay, was a religious man, and her mother, Shyama Sundari Devi, was an affectionate and diligent lady.
