Arijit Singh is an Indian singer,songwriter and sound designer . He has been narrated by the observers as one of the authoritative and high earning singer in Indian music and is reported for his delicate, uttered voice and work across several categories . He was on born on 25 April 1987 in Jiaganj West Bengal. His father's name was Surinder Kakkar Singh, who had belonged to a Punjabi Sikh religion, and his mother's name was Aditi Singh, who was a Bengali lady. His father's family moved from Lahore in Pakistan during the time of Partition in India. Arijit Singh grew up in a family who were prone to music ; when Arijit Singh was young he started his music training. His maternal aunt was tutored in Indian classical music, while his maternal grandmother used to sing a song. His maternal uncle was a tabla player, while his mother was also a singer and a musical instrument player . Arijit Singh was associated in charitable tasks via Tatwamasi Foundation. His capabilities are concentrated in the Murshidabad district where he had been connected with the assignments such as multidisciplinary hospital, music school and recreational centre. In the year 2010, Arijit Singh started getting chances to sing songs in the movies. His first song in Hindi was Phir Mohabbat from the movie Murder 2. He started working with Pritam Chakraborty on film soundtrack in movies such as Barfi (2012), Cocktail (2012) and Replay (2012). He had achieved an identity in the industry by singing the song Raabta from Agent Vinod (2012). His improvement was shown in the film Aashiqui 2 (2013) especially the song Tum Hi Ho which gained profit oriented favourable outcome and awarded him the Filmfare Award for Male Performance Singer. The song marked a critical stage in his profession. Subsequently, he had wrote various songs for movies such as Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Jackpot, and Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram Leela, further confirming his presence in Bollywood film songs. In the mid 2010s , Arijit Singh hung around a famous figure in Indian songs from the movies, often working with several songwriters such as Pritam Chakraborty and Vishal Shekhar. In 2019 he had recorded the song Khariyat from the movie Chhichore (2019) which was composed by Pritam Chakraborty; this song had gained popularity. In the same year , Arijit Singh had recorded the song Tujhe Kitna Chahne lage hum by Kabir Singh (2019) , which also become a famous Bollywood film song of the year. He had also sung with Shilpa Rao on the song Ghungroo from War (2019) which was composed by Vishal Shekhar . He had first sung in the voice of Salman Khan in song Leke Prabhu Ka Naam and song Ruaan from the movie Tiger 3 (2023). He had sung with Shreya Ghoshal in the songs such as Manwa Laga from the movie Happy New Year (2014), Samjhawan from the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya (2014), Aarat Bhar from movie Heropati (2014) and Ve Kamleya from the movie Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani (2023). He had sung with Nikhita Gandhi in the songs such as Raabta from Raabta (2017), Tere pyaar mein (2023), Leke Prabhu ka naam (2023), etc. In the year 2024 he was awarded for singing the song Sajni from the movie Lapatta Ladies. In 2026 he decided to withdraw from playback singing indicating that he would not take current projects and decided to sing independently.
