After her marriage with the almost fifty years aged guy Sahay, the twenty four years aged Mayuri thought her challenge was only to make her step-children Sameera and Pradeep amicable and friendly with her. The two things which she did not expect to happen but have taken place were; her feeling love towards her husband abundantly and her overwhelming grateful feeling and pity towards the insane first wife of her husband Niyoja. When her step-daughter Sameera also started behaving mad just like her mother while Mayuri was trying to find ways to make Niyoja sane, Mayuri’s belief that the bad angel Amsara was behind the misfortune of her husband has been strengthened even more. Against the strong confirmation of the psychiatrist Devayani who was the sister of her husband and treating Sameera and her mother that there is never any paranormal, not to say a bad angel like Amsara, Mayuri started trying to find a paranormal solution to the problem. Her going to Obbera, a small village in the very corner of the country where adoring bad angels is the main activity of the villagers; was only to follow a paranormal solution suggested by Palamita who knew about Amsara to cure her step-daughter. Whether offering herself at Amsara has become successful and cured her step-daughter or not is the main story of this novel.

The sotry briefly
It was eleven in the night and the silence then was being disturbed only by the occasional barking of dogs and yelping and crying of some other nocturnal creatures. That house was in the suburbs of that village Obbera and rather big to the other houses in that village. In a big room in the eastern corner of that said house were present four women and four years or so aged girl and among them probably a thirty years aged woman was absolutely naked. In the centre of that room there was a six feet height idol which has a snake head but a human body carved out of a stone and hued with different colors. The mouth of that snake head was open, tongue was out and fangs were appearing menacingly. Head colored in black, eyes were glass crystals without color, fangs in white color and the tongue was in red color. The rest of the body was in grey color and its fully erected penis also was with the same color.
“Avamayo, are you sure you want to do this?” Pomya, the old woman among them who was probably aged seventy years or so looked into the face of the naked woman. “There are ninety nine percent chances to lose your pregnancy because of this. Your husband may not like it.”
“Because of his disobedience to Amsara, I have to do this” Avamayo’s face was with full of anger and irritation. “He certainly gets angry but you know what happens if I don’t do it.”
“There is no guarantee that Amsara accepts you” Pomya was still looking into the face of Avamayo. “Only few women who offer themselves shall be accepted by Amsara and get his grace.”
“If I have not been accepted by Amsara, what would be the loss? There is danger to my pregnancy only if I have been accepted by Amsara otherwise not. Anyhow this is the only way left to us to pacify Amsara.”
“What my daughter said is true” Pampia, Amavayo’s mother intervened. “We know that Amavayo does not like the disobedience of my son in law and before he starts punishing us we should try something to pacify him. Even Amsara does not accept Amavayo, he atleast can understand that we are feeling bad for my son in law’s disobedience to him and are trying something to be excused by him.”
“Alright then. Make your prayer at Amsara before you offer yourself to him. You have seen offering of these types before and I need not tell you how to pray.” Pomya said “Don’t forget to say that you are a fatherless child and needs his grace! Ask him to excuse your husband and save your family from his wrath and save your child also.”
“Once you finished your prayer you know what we do.” Palamita who was another woman who was aged forty five years or so looked meaningfully into the face of Avamayo. The eight years aged girl was in her hands then who was looking at the naked woman with surprise in her wide opened eyes.
“All you guys do leave from here leaving the doors of this room and house wide open.” Avamayo smiled but the uneasiness she was feeling in her heart was quite evident in her face also. “But look after Niyoja carefully until this is all finished. She is already very much disturbed because of all of this.” Avamayo said while looking at that four years or so aged girl in the hands of Palamita.
“Your daughter is just like my daughter and you need not worry about her.” Palamita hugged Niyoja with both her hands. “Just be careful in what you are doing! It is very important.”
“My mom is an expert in adoring Amsara and I saw offerings of the virgin girls and pregnant women through her many a time even though very few of them were accepted by Amsara!” once again a smile was forced onto the lips of Avamayo. “I know all that by heart. You need not worry about.”
“You are right. After me, your mom is most ardent and skillful devotee of Amsara.” Pomya said. “In fact I am not necessary here. But as the ardent devotee of Amsara, I just cannot refrain myself from coming to the place where a devotee is offering herself to Amsara with whole of her heart.”
