A Horror Love Story revolves around the love between two college students, Rose and Maddy, who meet at a fresher's party at ARSD College. Their friendship blossoms into romance, and they both plan to confess their feelings for each other on Valentine's Day. Maddy gifts Rose a gold ring, while Rose gives Maddy a watch, solidifying their love. However, Rose's father discovers their relationship and forbids her from seeing Maddy. Distressed by their separation, Maddy seeks help from their mutual friend Merry, who learns about Rose's situation. Maddy visits Rose's father to ask for her hand in marriage but is rejected. Desperate to be together, Rose devises a plan to run away and enlists Merry's help to inform Maddy about her escape plan. The story hints at an impending twist as Rose's spirit, having died in an incident, seeks to reunite with her love even after death.
