( 5 ) OXYMORON The Webster Dictionary defines oxymoron as “a combination of  contradictory or incongruous words”. Oxymoron can be used for  dramatic effect, for example: Hell’s Angels and deafening silence.  They can also be comical, such as in civil engineering. Oxymoron is a figure of speech by which a locution produces an  incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.” on the other hand, these are expressions composed of words that are not inherently mutually exclusive but express an opinion that the two cannot occur together, usually for satirical intent.
