The story "Jungle Adventures (Kankai Gir)" recounts the experiences of a teacher leading a group of sixteen students and five fellow teachers on a trip to the Gir forest in Gujarat, India, during Dhanterasa in 2007. The teacher, inspired by the biodiversity and beauty of Gir, organized the trip to visit various attractions like Tulsishyam hot springs, Kankai Temple, and Jamwada waterfalls. The group began their journey early in the morning, and the students enjoyed their time at Tulsishyam, taking baths in the hot springs and capturing photos of the scenic surroundings. As they traveled towards Dhari, the students became increasingly impatient to see lions, despite the teacher explaining that lions are more active at night and less likely to be seen during the day. Upon reaching the Dalkhaniya check post, the group entered the jungle, where they observed the natural camouflage of the environment, making it difficult to spot animals. Despite this, they were thrilled to see a group of spotted deer. The adventure highlighted the beauty of the Gir forest and the excitement of exploring nature, fostering a sense of wonder among the students.
