Yellow Rose - Part 7

Welcoming Your Warmth

You don't even know what kind of trouble you are in and who is your foe. You, little birdie, you will regret having this life back, the rest of your life will be a disquiet and that's my promise." His pique showered these words of hate on me and I was ready with a classic answer. He was trying to scare me but he went down in flames.

"I will survive and live. That's my promise." After hearing it out from me, he lost it and my head hit hard on the nearby table as he threw my head after grabbing me by my hair and taking a hold of my neck. This time when he spoke again, blood was dripping on my shoulder. "I am gonna make this life a living hell for you."

A stinging sensation stayed for quite a long on my cheek after he slapped me hard and left me there alone in those shadows to grieve over my pain. But I am over grieving now. It is always darkest before dawn. I know I can make it through this.

Tired to hold on and lift the wait of my body. I allowed it to fall on the mucky ground from my sitting position with a sound of a heavy blow. The minute my head hit ground I started feeling all the pain again. The cold and the devilry murk. My head was throbbing and my throat burned with dryness. My left cheek stinging still and I was tasting my own blood. The smell of clotting blood filled the air in the room.

I did my best to stay up. I wanted to stay in a conscious state but my vision was fading. I never knew when I passed out. When it rains it pours.

"You will be fine. It's just a scratch. You are a strong girl, Tula. You don't have to cry on these pitiful things." A very alluring, charming, soothing, sweet, evocative and tender voice capered in my head and stirred my sleep. When I woke up I found myself in the same old darkness and torment. I started thinking about that voice. Surely a female voice it was but whose? Was I dreaming or was someone here?

In a spell I learned that there is a huge chaos that has hit the scene outside the door of this room. People squawking and objects hitting here and there outside made giant noises. Then there were few gunshots. I was not scared but curious about my fate now. Where from here to get more hate now? Was thinking about it when I heard a clonk on the door. I thought there were clouds on the horizon.

But what followed the bang made my heart skip its few beats. It was Evan's voice. "Tula! Tula, you in there?" I wasn't sure if I was supposed to answer that or not. From one capturer to another? Oh My Lord I am so done with this. Still I just don't know why I answered. Why did I act inane and invite my capturer inside the room I was in? "Yes, Evan I am here."

I hadn't yet consummated all my words and the door flung open. Actually it was wrecked on the floor into pieces. I never took time to adore the beauty of that door. It was an art piece. Beautifully carved from wood instead of ply. They used some electric gadget to blow the door off.

Evan came running to my mire when he didn't even see me fully yet. His warm embrace engulfed me and his strong yet soothing smell filled my nostrils with a feel of comfort. I just don't know why but I allowed myself to lean in his embosom.

There were few more people standing at the entrance of the room but I didn't care. Evan was moving his palm in circles on my back in a way to calm me down and rocking me to and forth like we do to an infant to make him or her sleep.

Well Evan's presence was enough to solace me. I felt that lost warmth again and that's all I need for right now. Speaking the truth I didn't think of Evan even once in the last few hours when I was here. Most of the time I passed out and when I didn't I was dealing with immense amounts of agony. But I had a hope that I will make it out alive from here and maybe that hope was Evan.

You are my luster in blackness and you are the comforting darkness to my iris when dazzles attack them. You are the hope to survive and live.

My blue dress with the floral print was a mess in the dirt and I looked scruffy as hell. While Evan was in his black suit without the coat which means his white shirt is getting all the dirt on it from me but Evan cared less or least for it. His tie was half done and hair looked like it hadn't been combed for many years. Yet he was a lure for my eyes.

He freed me from my imprisonment only to capture me again in his gaze. "You will be fine, don't worry." With these words he lifted me up and there is probably nothing more I want to think about now but just rest in his embrace as it's a perfect place to rest. I dug my head as deep as I could in his chest, used my only working hand to hold his shoulder and closed my eyes tight to avoid all the light coming from outside. I have already settled within the dark, I guess.

But my comfort came to end soon as Evan placed me on a stretcher of an ambulance after we moved our way out of the huge building I was in. I had an opportunity to get a glimpse of that old worn out emotional artistic structure which was my prison for the last few hours. The place was beautiful but old and had a lot of wooden structures.

Without any shame I showed my decline to get down from Evan's hold and he was stupefied. Mia was not there but some other nurses and hospital people were there with a huge troop of people wearing cop uniforms and were all armed. So many wheels with sirens and too much light to be called this hour, a night.

"Relax, I am coming in the ambulance." Evan tried to convince me to get down and I now was feeling a bit embarrassed like a little child so I disenthralled his shoulder from my clutch. and he softly laid me on the stretcher from his arms. I was put into the ambulance and my impatient orbs didn't leave Evan till he stood outside the vehicle talking to some unknown guy.

He came in and took my left hand which according to Brandon was equal to dead. And it was quite true. I never felt much sensation in that arm. But when Evan took it, all of my nerve endings were frenzied to feel more of his touch.

A sharp pain ran all over my body and I felt it fully when I lost control over my voluntary muscles. My body grew stiff and the hospital people grew hasty. They started working on me and injected me immediately with something.

My eyes stayed on Evan, he never left my hand and warmth from his hand continued to transfer itself to me. I refused to close my eyes and sleep once again, I didn't want to lose Evan's sight. I struggled with all my will power and strength to stay up but Evan's words caused me to sink in a deep, void, dark space that people call sleep. "Rest Yellow Rose. You need it. Don't worry. You won't get hurt. I am here."
