Madan Amarnath Choksi, known as MAC, comes from a middle-class family and is hardworking but struggles with self-confidence. His father, Amarnath Choksi, a clerk, is often angry and discouraging towards Madan, leading him to feel unloved and unappreciated. Despite their strained relationship, Madan strives to prove himself. After learning about call centers that hire individuals with good English, Madan and his friend apply for jobs. Although interviews are challenging due to his lack of confidence, he ultimately secures a position in a reputable company and is sent to the US for training. Excelling there, he is offered a job and decides to reinvent himself, adopting the name MAC. A year later, MAC has become a Team Manager in the US and regularly updates his mother on his success, though he speaks less with his father. His mother reassures him that his father is proud of his achievements. MAC lives in a nice apartment with Priya, a colleague he loves and plans to marry. The story ends with Priya answering the door to an unexpected visitor, an old man with luggage.
