Lesson 30

As reading the transits of the Essence Numbers is such an intuitive art we are going to take you back to the fictional example of Sue Ann Dunn that we used in the Calculating The Essence Number Newsletter.

To refresh your memory, here is her chart again. Note that most charts go to age seventy or longer and that this chart depicts her Essence Numbers from birth to age 20.

Analyzing this type of chart is all about looking for trends.

The first trend that is noticed is that our fictional Sue got a very happy and healthy start in life as in her year of birth (1960) she is represented by the Essence Number 6 which denotes a strong and devoted family atmosphere.

From age two to four she probably demonstrated more imagination and creativity than most children as that period is denoted by the Essence Number 3.

From age five to seven she may have had a difficult time adjusting to the more restrictive atmosphere of school. Her early school years are represented by the number 4, which indicate feelings of frustration and oppression. She may also have had a hard time making friends or been punished for not being disciplined.

Between the ages of eight and nine the Essence Number is 6. The focus of this number is additions to the family and it is possible that during this period that a sibling entered her life.

At the age of nine, the transit shows a pivot in circumstances that may have changed her entire outlook on life. As the transit is short and involves the master number 11 chances are that whatever the incident was, it shook her faith in others or a higher power. The other reading for this year (1969) is an Essence 2, which indicates frustrations, obstacles and setbacks. It is likely this setback was a parent's divorce.

The Essence Number 4 that describes her life at age 10 shows that she may have suffered some kind of deprivation in a real physical sense that may have affected her emotional health as well. Like the year before this is a transient influence that marks hardship triggered by a single traumatic event such as the divorce or family split indicated in the previous year.

At age 11, there seems to be an ending or goodbye to a long hard phase in her childhood as 1971 is denoted by then Essence Number 9 which signifies beginnings and end. It seems likely that in this year she was offered a fresh start in life somehow, but not without the pain of saying good bye to something she holds dear.

The Essence number 4 dominates 1972 which indicates she may have suffered some kind of deprivation in a real physical sense that may have affected her emotional health as well. Like the year before this is a transient influence that marks hardship triggered by a single traumatic event such as the divorce or family split indicated in the previous year.

From age 13 to 17 she enters a long transit of four years that is dominated by the number 6. The number 6 denotes family unity, security and happiness so it seems that the worst is over and that her adolescence is happy and healthy. However because it lasts more than three years this transit could also mean that an adult in her family (a parent) might require more devotion and attention than most parents and perhaps even financial support. A long Number 6 transit at this age can mean having to drop out of school to support a family member.

At age seventeen we see a pivotal point as for a single year (1977) she is dominated by the Essence Number 5 which is about breaking away from restrictions and achieving personal freedom. It is likely that she breaks away from her family at this time to pursue her own dreams.

Her eighteenth year (1978) is represented by Essence 1, which means that this individual achieves a brand new, happy start in life. This number emphasizes successful ventures, good ideas and "coming into one's own.

Her next three years (age 19 through to 21) are dominated by the same Number 3 Essence that dominated her toddler years. As this influence is three years it is likely that this individual will achieve fame and recognition through her artistic endeavors and be quite successful at it. The number 3 Essence also indicates great happiness and many blessings in general.

It is one thing to do a short fictional chart. As mentioned before this Essences chart done for the fictional Sue Ann Dunn was invented for teaching purposes only.

Lesson 31

Usually when you use numerology to look at relationships, you look at two different types of numbers. First you look at the Life Path number (the sum of the numbers in your birthdate reduced to a single digit) and then you also look at the Destiny number (which is based on the sum of the letter values in your first name.) Sometimes a matching soul urge number can also reveal a lot about a potential soul mate. No matter what aspect of the self they are portraying, the numbers in themselves have both negative and positive traits. Often if you pay for a reading, the numerologist will spend a lot of time telling you the flattering aspects of each of these numbers (1 is a fantastic leader! - 2 means a good marriage! - 3 means fame! Etc.)

However each number is symbolic of just as many negative traits as positive ones. These negative traits can be described as being the shadow side of the Life Path Number Personality. If you really want to get to know someone, then also consider the following when examining their numbers, as even the greatest of human beings is not perfect. The following is a description of some of the negative personality traits that can be associated with each number in terms of Life Path, Destiny Number, Soul Urge (the vowels) and the Personality Number (the consonants.)

Please don't be offended by the following, since we are talking about tendencies here, not absolutes!

Number 7 Destiny - The individual is destined to be "married" to a project or great work rather than a person.

Number 7 Soul Urge - The sex and death urges in this person overpower other aspects of the personality causing self-destructive behavior and misery in relationships.

Number 9 Personality - This personality is usually so busy soul-seeking or teaching others that they come off as very patronizing and sometimes as downright nuts. It can be very difficult for them to sustain a relationship or a job.

In next lesson I will take a look at how to woo the different numbers when it comes to impressing them business-wise or romantically.

Lesson 32

Sometimes you are trying to get someone's attention romantically, and other times you are trying to make a good impression on them so they will hire you for a job. No matter what your reason for trying to make an impact on someone emotionally, numerology can go a long way towards assisting you in figuring out what makes someone tick.

If you really want to get to know someone, calculate all of the numbers that create him or her as sentient human beings with desires and wishes. This includes the Life Path Number (the sum of the birth date reduced to one digit), the Destiny Number (the full name), Soul Urge (the vowels) and the Personality Number (the consonants.) Then consult with the interpretations below to find out how to get them to notice you.

How to Woo A ...

Number 1 Life Path - Show your willingness to be a follower, not a leader. A gift of cash to a good cause in his or her name always impresses a number 1.

Number 1 Destiny - Indicate that you won't mind giving up your life for this person's. Show loyalty, volunteer to be this person's personal assistant and make it clear you will never ask much for yourself. Never outshine this individual or they will consider you an enemy.

Number 1 Soul Urge - Make it clear to this person that you understand politics and special needs and that infidelities or consorting with your enemies doesn't bother you. Soul Urge 1's need to not be condemned for "doing what they have to do."

Number 1 Personality - Give them a picture of themselves that is flattering or any kind of award or recognition (faux or not) that recognizes them as number 1. The Personality 1 also appreciates cash, trips to a spa, makeovers and shopping sprees as gifts.

How To Woo A ...

Number 2 Life Path - Nothing makes this person happier than a marriage proposal and a wedding ring.

Number 2 Destiny- Second honeymoons, promises of love and romance and eternal fidelity please this type. In business, signing long leases or long contracts makes this type happy.

Number 2 Soul Urge - Teddy bears, pictures of you ... anything that constantly reminds them that you are always there for them despite their enormous insecurity ... always pleases a 2.

Number 2 Personality - This type is very much gratified by a pregnancy as the child cements the reality of the relationship for them. Kids are the glue that keep them together. They also appreciate any form of seduction - dinners out, long trips with just the two of you and sentimental objects and jewelry as gifts. Pulling on the heartstrings is the key to winning over the Number 2 personality.

How To Woo A ...

Number 3 Life Path - Give him or her a long rope and the freedom to talk to or even have an affair with whomever they want.

Number 3 Destiny - A musical instrument, trip to a spa, clothes or anything that improves their performance as entertainers matters to them the most. They also like toys.

Number 3 Soul Urge - This person is likely to be most impressed by an exotic vacation. Giving them a picture of themselves (a painted portrait for example) will impress them too. Showing them off in public is also appreciated.

Number 3 Personality - This person sees him or herself as being very unique and above the rules that normally apply to any of the other numbers. As they are so special, they appreciate gifts and ideas that are one of a kind and actions that are not easily imitated.

How To Woo A ...

Number 4 Life Path - A life-long promise to take care of this person in every way means the most to them. Individuals who are not critical of them, or who will not blame them for their situation also impress them. Cash or a roof over their heads are the best gift.

Number 4 Life Destiny - An offer of unconditional love either in the form of marriage or life long friendship is often required. Financial help is always appreciated by a hard done by 4.

Number 4 Soul Urge - Any type of vacation or holiday or offer to clear up the number 4's debts usually impresses them.

Number 4 Personality - Trips to spas, paying off bills and taking care of the basics that they can't often impresses a 4. Paying a dental bill or back rent usually will win a 4's heart.

How To Woo A ...

Number 5 Life Path - This person greatly appreciates a long vacation or exotic trip.

Number 5 Destiny - Gifts such as luggage, air miles points and paying for travel expenses impresses this individual the most.

Number 5 Soul Urge - This person will always be in love with the person that gives them the most freedom, both physically and emotionally.

Number 5 Personality - A 5 often can't stick to anything for long, so you need to keep things exciting and constantly changing to hold their attention. They love going to the movies, collecting things and of course travel - these things are the key to their heart.

How To Woo A ...

Number 6 Life Path - A promise of marriage usually leads to sex. Old fashioned wining and dining appeals to them most. They like to be courted in traditional ways.

Number 6 Destiny - Give their parents a gift or paying respect to the person's parents in some way (taking them to dinner) makes this number hold you in their highest esteem.

Number 6 Soul Urge - Offer to move in with the parents should you get married, or invite the parents or siblings to stay with you if necessary.

Number 6 Personality - This number is most impressed if you offer to work for the family business. They also appreciate gifts that are family oriented such as family portraits, kitchen renovations and swimming pools. Anything that will entertain an extended family makes them very happy.

How To Woo A ...

Number 7 Life Path - As they are very self-conscious, you are best to woo a 7 by being as casual as possible so they don't feel threatened. Physical intimacy needs to be approached very gently and in fact with many of them, it will not happen at all.

Number 7 Destiny - A donation to a great cause or work in progress greatly impresses a 7. They are often broke, even though they are geniuses, so cash also impresses them.

Number 7 Soul Urge - The perfect companion for a 7 will take care of them in every way - including doing the cooking, cleaning and being a personal assistant. This should be done without expectation of emotional rewards.

Number 7 Personality - The person appreciates the gift of trust, as most of them are well aware that their emotional problems make it difficult for them to deal with.

How To Woo A ...

Number 8 Life Path - These individuals appreciate a formal, slightly distant companion who shows a lot of taste and class.

Number 8 Destiny - Letting this person show off by treating you well is often the key to their heart. They like to feel like the hero or rescuer in a person's life.

Number 8 Soul Urge - The person may not be that interested in sex and more interested in cerebral and philanthropic matters. They are very impressed by donations in their name to charity.

Number 8 Personality - The person may not be that interested in material things as they can usually buy themselves anything they want. They like to be trusted and to be given a long rope in a relationship to do what they like and see whom they like. They are only really impressed by gifts that are really expensive and unique.

How To Woo A ...

Number 9 Life Path - This person appreciates spiritual principles and likes gifts that recognize that they are on a course of self-improvement - self help books, new age items or religious items.

Number 9 Destiny - A sure way to impress the 9 Destiny number is to make a charitable donation in his or her name to a good cause.

Number 9 Soul Urge - These wounded healers are always looking for a soul mate - a promise that is kept means a lot to them.

Number 9 Personality - Things to keep them grounded and focused such as daytime organizers, shelves or paying for a maid are especially appreciated by this very disorganized and flaky number.

In the following lessons I will be looking at relationship compatibility more in depth. However in the meantime you might be wondering in terms of numbers, just who gets along best with who?

Lesson 33

In this newsletter I have created a bit of a summary of each number, and who is their best bet in terms of a relationship.

Keep in mind that most relationship compatibility study is primarily based on the Life Path number (the sum of the birthday reduced to a single digit). The second most important number to look at in terms of compatibility is the Destiny Number (the sum of the full name value reduced to a single digit.) Most numerologists consider at least those two numbers when creating a relationship compatibility analysis.

Keep in mind as well that most numerologists eliminate the concept of master numbers when doing relationship compatibility and reduce the numbers 11 and 22 to their single digit equivalents (2 and 4 respectively.)

Compatibilities for Number 1

Best: 1, 5, 7

Possible: 3, 9

Challenging: 8

Disaster: 2,4,6

Compatibilities for Number 2

Best: 2, 4, 8

Possible: 3, 6

Challenging: 9

Disaster: 1,5,7

Compatibilities for Number 3

Best: 3, 6, 9

Possible: 1, 2, 5

Challenging: (none, relationships are very black and white and

uncompromising for this number)

Disaster: 4, 7,8

Compatibilities for Number 4

Best: 2,4,8

Possible: 6, 7

Challenging: (none)

Disaster: 1, 3, 5, 9

Compatibilities for Number 5

Best: 1, 5, 7

Possible: 3, 9

Challenging: 8

Disaster: 2, 4, 6

Compatibilities for Number 6

Best: 3, 6, 9

Possible: 2, 4, 8

Challenging: (none - not a number that has middle ground)

Disaster: 1, 5, 7

Compatibilities for Number 7

Best: 1, 5, 7

Possible: 4

Challenging: 9

Disaster: 2, 3, 6, 8

Compatibilities for Number 8

Best: 2, 4, 8

Possible: 6

Challenging: 1, 5

Disaster: 3, 7, 9

Compatibilities for Number 9

Best: 3, 6, 9

Possible: 1, 5

Challenging: 2, 7

Disaster: 4, 8

As you can see some of the numbers have the capacity to get along with more numbers than others. The hardest number to get along with is 4, which has more incompatible numbers than the other numbers.

There are also many numbers (such as 6, 3 and 4) that simply have no middle ground - if there are challenges in a relationship it is next to impossible for them to work on them as they have instant likes and dislikes. Of course the above is just a brief guide to which numbers get along with each other. True compatibility studies are much more complex than this. In the following lessons I will be looking at relationship compatibility more in depth.

Lesson 34

The day of the month that you were born on could be significant, as it determines what type of job you might best be suited to do. This is because in some folk forms of numerology the digits of the day you were born are said to symbolize the tools and talents that you were born with in life. So ...

One. If you were born on the first day of the month, then you must be the center of attention so being a politician; public speaker, actor or performer best suits you. You are also a born leader.

Two. If you were born on the second day of the month you relate to people more emotionally than cerebrally, and would make a good psychologist, counselor or sales clerk.

Three. If you were born on the third day of the month then you are tolerant of others and like the spotlight. You make a good teacher, theologian or performer.

Four, if you were born on the fourth day of the month you are energetic and have a good design sense. You make a good house builder or gardener.

Five. Those born on the fifth have inquisitive minds and make good scientists, teachers and computer experts. A job that combines technology with travel is perfect (such as a pilot.)

Six. You are pleasant, know what to say and would make a good advisor, consultant or nurse.

Seven. You have high ideals and are very precise. You make a good novelist, scientist or chemist.

Eight. If you were born on the eighth day you are good with money and are suited to business. You would make a good banker or builder.

Nine. Those born on the ninth of the month are independent spirits who make good counselors, spiritual advisors and healers.

Ten. Those born on the tenth are intense, political and natural born leaders. You make a good executive, doctor or quality control inspector.

Eleven. These individuals are sensitive to the needs to others. They make great teachers and counselors.

Twelve. Those born on the twelfth of the month tend to be consultants or fix-it type people. It is characteristic for them to finish up the undone projects of others. They are good at mediating and sales.

Thirteen. You are a super salesperson who has both charisma and leadership abilities. You excel at architecture, designing infrastructures, politics and screenwriting.

Fourteen. If you were born on the fourteenth you have a methodical way of working that makes you a good contractor, manager or secretary.

Fifteen. This is the number of diplomacy and also denotes a person who will speak several languages. You make a good banker, diplomat or translator.

Seventeen. You love education and would make a good professor. You are also a good counselor or psychiatrist. Fame as a writer is indicated.

Eighteen. You are good at project planning and management. You can thrive in any corporate environment. Construction and design are also possibilities.

Nineteen. You are egotistical and forward-looking. Information technology interests you but you could also be a good spiritual counselor.

Twenty. You are a natural homemaker and would do well as a nurse, caregiver or cleaning person.

Twenty-one. You are a master of speculation and organization and would do well in the financial or publishing industries.

Twenty-two. You are intuitive and scientific at the same time and would make an amazing nurse, doctor, counselor or architect.

Twenty-four. You are good at understanding what makes people tick and would be well suited to a career as a lawyer, paralegal, executive or psychologist.

Twenty-five. If you were born on the twenty-fifth day of the month, there is a very spiritual side to your nature, which makes you a good advisor, counselor or healer.

Twenty-six. You are a hard worker with exceptional organizational skills and would excel in a supervisory or management capacity of any kind.

Twenty-seven. If you were born on the twenty seventh day of the month, you are mercurial, intelligent yet quite eccentric. You are suited to science, telecommunications and working on your own.

Twenty-eight. You are very creative and egotistical. You also love to travel. You would do well working in the tourist industry. Working with animals also suits you.
