I used to blame myself for lack of efforts. At DSVV, I could realize that it is not the lack of efforts but the lack of health. When I have learnt holistic health management skills in the campus my career could get a positive change. I could complete two regular programs and three distance programs. I am also planning to earn more degrees.

B. Health Management for Spiritual Growth: You may face difficulty in doing spiritual practices regularly due to lack of good health. Learning health management skills are more important than doing spiritual practices. When my health was better, I could easily get up early in the morning for performing various spiritual practices.

2. Creative Thinking

A. Creative Thinking for Career Development: Creative thinking is essential not only for arts’ students but also for all other students. Yug Nirman Literature of Gayatri Pariwar is an ocean of creative ideas. Due to the creative ideas came after reading this literature, I could contribute something in the area of Eastern Psychology and Indian psychotherapies.

B. Creative Thinking Skills for Spiritual Growth: You can have your creative ways to control your mind for spiritual growth. The divine ambience of DSVV inspires me to invent new creative ideas to divert my mind whenever it goes in the wrong direction.

3. Intrapersonal Skills

A. Intrapersonal Skills for Career Development: In the age of throat cut competition, one needs to work hard for survival. Here in DSVV, I have learnt how to do an effective self-counselling. I do work harder than in the past to acquire the technical knowledge required in my career.

4. Social Skills

A. Social Skills for Career Development:

The technical knowledge of our field is not enough for career development. You need social skills also to get new job opportunities. I could get an opportunity to work in Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV) because I participated in social activities when I was studying.

B. Social Skills for Spiritual Growth: Spirituality does not demand a person to become less social. Solitude is not good for beginners. Atmiyata Vistar or the efforts towards the giving ‘as equal importance to others as you give to yourself’ is a key to success in the field of spirituality. I could expand my social network in Gayatri Pariwar.

5. Stress Management and Relaxing Skills

A. Stress Management and Relaxing skills for Career Development: Stress can spoil your career. Before I came to DSVV, I used to become very much stressed when I could not concentrate on my study. My life partner Dr Rajeshwari Trivedi could be succeeded in making me understand the importance of housekeeping skills. I do not need to search for a better place for spiritual practices because I find my house and my campus divine, neat and clean enough for the same.

A. Time Management Skills for Career Development: Busy schedule of an educational institute helps you to learn time management skills very easily. The time management of DSVV is admirable. Waking up early in the morning also gives you more time for career development.

B. Time Management Skills for Spiritual Growth: If your sense organs are not focused on spirituality, time can easily be elapsed in materialistic life. Busy people are not always spiritual. But spiritual people are always busy either in ‘Atmiyata Vistar’ or in solitude for spiritual practices. In the view of spiritual growth, the time I could manage in 14 years of my life in DSVV is much better than the time I could manage in the first 26 years of my life.

9. Writing Skills

A. Writing Skills for Career Development: A good writer not necessarily a topper in the study. Here in DSVV, I could focus on acquiring knowledge rather than acquiring information. Memorizing facts and figures can make you the topper but not a good writer. I could also learn how to write scientifically.

B. Writing Skills for Spiritual Growth: Our diary can inspire us for spiritual progress. Inspired by the regular classes on Srimad Bhagwad Gita and Meditation at DSVV, I could write some books like ManoUnnati, ManoYog etc.

DSVV has given me numerous opportunities for learning public speaking skills. After joining DSVV, I could organize many workshops, seminars, webinars and public speeches.

It also taught me some of the public speaking skills.

Cultural considerations are also kept in mind while communicating with others. These qualities enhanced my level of adjustment with others.

These certificates can be added advantage in getting a good job in a reputed organization. DSVV has provided me with some opportunities for such pieces of training.

B. Budgeting Skills for Spiritual Growth: Budgeting Skills are also important in spiritual growth. For beginners, it is not so easy to leave all comforts and materialistic desires at once. I could learn many budgeting skills from the life of spiritual seekers of Gayatri Pariwar.

15. Team Work

A. Team Work for Career Development: In a residential campus like DSVV you can easily build a team for career development. I have learnt many skills regarding teamwork in DSVV.

B. Team Work for Spiritual Growth: There is a wrong belief that teamwork is not necessary for spiritual growth. But at DSVV, I could understand the need for group studies and discussion for spiritual growth.

16. Prioritizing skills

A. Prioritizing Skills for Career Development: You have to prioritize your career needs. You should give priority to your weaknesses in career to be demolished first for smooth career development. I could give priority to health and a divine ambience than a good job. I left a good job abroad and came to DSVV for higher education. It was the turning point in my career.

B. Prioritizing Skills for Spiritual Growth: If your priority is to earn lots of money for sensory pleasures, DSVV is not the right place for you. I could realize that for me, it is easier to manage in limited income source than not to invest enough time and efforts for spiritual growth. Thus DSVV is like a heaven for those who have given priority to spiritual growth.

17. Understanding values

A. Understanding values for Career Development: If you give enough importance to moral, social and other values it will help you in your career. In modern times there is a lack of honest people who give more importance to values than to materialistic life. DSVV is a unique institution to mould the youth. The literature of Pandit Shree Ram Sharmaji and weekly classes of Shraddhey Dr Sahab helped me a lot in understanding professional ethics and moral values related to my career.

B. Understanding values for Spiritual Growth: Spiritual growth is impossible without understanding the values. Here in DSVV, I could realize that books are not enough to understand values. We need to look into the lives of people whose applied approach helps us in the real understanding of the values.

18. How to focus

A. How to focus on Career Development: In adolescent age and early adult age, it is very difficult to focus on career development due to hormonal changes in your body. Due to the purity of the majority of students in DSVV, I could focus on career development.

B. How to focus for Spiritual Growth: When you see many people focused on spiritual growth around you it can be easier to focus on spiritual growth. Though my interest in spirituality was from my childhood, I could focus on spiritual growth due to the divine ambience of DSVV.

19. Expressing Respect
A. Expressing Respect for Career Development: A research provides the fact that you learn 25% from self-study. 25% from teachers, 25% from your classmates and the remaining 25% from exposures. It means 75% (Except the self-study) of career development needs to learn expressing respect. You need to express respect to your classmates also. I could learn these skills from polite teachers, students and other members of Gayatri Pariwar.
B. Expressing Respect for Spiritual Growth: Our ego prevents us from learning the skills related to expressing respect. The ego is one of the biggest hurdles in spiritual growth. After some years of my stay in DSV, I could find myself less egoistic.

20. Leadership
A. Leadership for Career Development: In the age of startups more opportunities are there for those who can lead. I could learn the skills of self-leadership from the life of leaders of Gayatri Pariwar.
B. Leadership for Spiritual Growth: Average people follow the leaders. You have to lead to motivate people around you for spiritual growth. I could lead some people to change the view of life, to balance the materialistic and spiritual growth.

21. Self-Discipline
A. Self-discipline for Career Development: Self-discipline is very much important for career development. The divine ambience of DSVV is maintained mainly due to the self-discipline of students and teachers. Instead of escaping from the challenges, I have learnt self-discipline skills like motivating myself for career development.
B. Self-discipline for Spiritual Growth: People cannot read dirty and negative thoughts in your mind easily. Self-discipline only can help for spiritual growth. In DSVV, You can find self-disciplined people in a good number. Here in DSVV, I could understand the law of Karma. Our fabricated behaviour may prevent us in present. But only self-discipline can prevent us in present as well as in future.

22. Environment Protection
A. Environment Protection for Career Development: Social activities like tree plantation and other efforts for environment protection can introduce similar kind of people in your life. You can get the help of such people for career development.
B. Environment Protection for Spiritual Growth: If modern human life will not be changed, no one will survive. Spiritual growth in modern life starts with the protection of the environment. Life in DSVV is sustainable in terms of environment protection. I could get many opportunities for tree plantation etc. in DSVV.

23. Patience
A. Patience for Career Development: The new generation seems crazy in getting jobs. The first step of a bright career is getting experience whether through a job or volunteer services. If we compare the students joined a job immediately after the study with the students donated at least one or two years to DSVV, we can say that students having the patience to learn could get more success in their lives than others.
B. Patience for Spiritual Growth: According to our mythology, sometimes we need more than one birth for certain spiritual growth. Even after many years of spiritual practices, I face difficulty in focusing. But at the same time, I can also see the progress in it. I have seen many people in Gayatri Pariwar having patience at an admirable level in their lives.
24. Looking at situations from others’ perspectives
A. Looking at situations from others’ perspectives for Career Development: Generally, freshers can see only a few aspects of the career. They should learn to look at the situations from seniors’ perspectives. People at the senior position may have a broader vision. If we try to understand this it is not impossible to have an idea of the vision of our seniors. In my early career, my temperament was low, I used to find the mistakes in the coordination of my seniors. When I have learnt to synergize my ideas with the ideas of my seniors, I could get some big achievements in my career.
B. Looking at situations from others’ perspectives for spiritual growth: Saints and spiritual seekers do not force others to follow them. They can have a better level of adjustment even with the quarrelsome people. If you don’t learn to look at situations from others’ perspectives you may lose your energy in arguments and hatred. The experience of working in DSVV is awesome in this sense. We avoid conflicts. We try to forgive others. As a result, we feel like heaven.
