Recently the US Navy declassified three videos captured by US Navy pilots’ years ago. It shows some mysterious wingless objects travelling at hypersonic speed. The article has refuelled the ancient debate whether aliens exist or they are just a product of the extensive human imagination. A report published in the New York times gave the speculation more air when it revealed that the Pentagon had spent five years investigating “unexplained aerial phenomenon.
Aliens had always been considered an escapist’s fantasy but what happens when government officials are telling a different story altogether. The NY report has given the speculation an entirely new level of credibility and a number of questions arise out of the report. In the large universe are we the only one of a kind? Most conspiracy theories suggest that the universe is largely intelligible and hide themselves from human’s unsuspecting eyes to keep an eye upon us for whatever reason out there. Maybe they are more intelligible and we are too unintelligible to understand them or interact with them or maybe it is us who are too progressive for their likes. We don’t know and we will never know unless we get a credible proof of their existence.
How much credibility you ask? Well, there are unexplained UFO sightings seen regularly all over the world but as the name suggest they are unidentified. People report UFO sighting regularly but they are usually taken for some pranks or believed to be blown out of proportion.
However, the recent stance of world governments has seen a big difference than how they reacted to the notion of Extraterrestrial life thirty or forty years earlier. Take the Pentagon investigation for an example. When the government says we are looking into the matter with a serious investigation, there tends to be something that pushed them to take such a public and bold stance. The likes of Elon Musk, Robert Bigelow, Jeff Bezos and others are too excited with the notion of colonizing the outer space and making it liveable for human habitation.
Not to forget there have been a number of interesting incidences that lead to all the hype about the existence of Aliens. In 1977, the 72-second signal burst from the interstellar space is considered the best evidence of alien communication that no human machine has deciphered correctly. However, its origin is thought to be intergalactic and the definite answers will take time. Twenty years later, in 1997, residents of the state of Arizona reported seeing weird shaped lights what seemed like floating off the night sky. Even people from aircrafts witnessed these strange lights but Air Traffic Controls reported that the radar was all clear. This incongruity has given rise to major conspiracy theory as to the aliens are watching over us at all times. Nobody can explain concretely.
Other theories say that aliens are all dead and humans are the last of intelligible species. That we are too late and we are Universe’s only hope.
Well, until we get any concrete evidence, this is all we got and only time will tell. For the time being we are our only hope!
