Aarohi was shocked to see Reyansh blocking her way in front of the whole college. Hundreds of students were looking at them and whispering. Some girls were jealous, some boys were scared of Reyansh. Her heart was beating very fast. She had never been in such a situation before.
Aarohi was a simple girl from a middle-class family. She only wanted to study and make her parents proud. But Reyansh Malhotra, the richest and most handsome boy of the college, known as the Devil for his anger, was standing in front of her.
"What do you want? Why are you troubling me again and again?" Aarohi asked in a low voice, trying to be brave but her voice was shaking.
Reyansh looked into her eyes and said softly, "I just want your friendship, Aarohi. I know I was rude yesterday in the library. I shouted at you in front of everyone. But I am really sorry from my heart. I could not sleep whole night. Please give me one chance to be your friend."
Everyone was shocked. Reyansh Malhotra never said sorry to anyone. Not even to teachers. And he was saying sorry to a normal girl like Aarohi in front of the whole college.
Aarohi thought for a second. She saw honesty in his eyes for the first time. Yesterday he looked like a devil, today his eyes were soft. She felt a little pity for him.
"Okay, but only friends. Nothing more than that. And you will not disturb me in my studies. My studies are very important for me," Aarohi said finally in a serious tone.
Reyansh's face glowed with happiness. It seemed like he won the world. He said with a big smile, "Only friends, promise. I will never disturb your studies. I will help you in studies."
From that day, their friendship started. It was a strange friendship. Reyansh started helping Aarohi in college. He would carry her heavy books to the classroom, save a seat for her in the library before she came, bring her favourite cold coffee from the canteen, and protect her from other boys who tried to trouble her.
Aarohi also started feeling comfortable. Reyansh was not as bad as people said. He was caring, but his way of caring was a little different, a little possessive.
Slowly, Aarohi's friends also started noticing the change. Her best friend Neha said, "Aarohi, Reyansh really likes you. I have never seen him like this for any girl."
But Aarohi did not know that Reyansh's friendship was slowly turning into a dangerous obsession. He wanted Aarohi only for himself. He would get angry inside if Aarohi talked to any other boy in the college. He would follow her secretly to know where she goes.
One day, Aarohi was talking and laughing with Sameer, her classmate, for a college project in the canteen. They were making notes and laughing on some joke. Reyansh saw them from far. His blood boiled. His hands became fists. His face became red with jealousy.
He went straight to Sameer and held his collar tightly in front of everyone. The whole canteen became silent.
"Stay away from her, she is only mine. Don't you dare talk to her again," Reyansh shouted angrily at Sameer.
Sameer was scared. Aarohi was shocked and scared too. She had never seen this angry side after their friendship. She immediately pulled Reyansh back and said loudly, "What are you doing? Are you mad? He is just my project partner. We are doing college work. Leave him!"
Reyansh realized his mistake when he saw tears in Aarohi's eyes. He left Sameer's collar and said sorry to Aarohi, "I am sorry, I just cannot see you with anyone else. I get jealous. I... I think I love you, Aarohi. I really love you from my heart."
Aarohi was stunned. She had never expected this confession in the canteen. The whole canteen was silent, waiting for her answer.
Tears came into Aarohi's eyes. She said in a broken voice, "I told you on the first day, only friendship. I don't love you, Reyansh. I only want to study. Please understand my situation. My parents have many hopes from me."
Saying this, Aarohi ran away crying from the canteen. Neha ran behind her.
That night, Reyansh was broken. He was sitting alone in his dark, luxurious room. For the first time in his life, someone had rejected the great Reyansh Malhotra. He was angry, sad, and more obsessed.
He was looking at Aarohi's photo on his phone and said to himself, "You will be mine, Aarohi. Only mine. I will make you love me."
On the other side, Aarohi was also not able to sleep. She was thinking about Reyansh's words again and again.
Will Aarohi ever understand Reyansh's true love? Will Reyansh's obsession destroy their beautiful friendship? Or will Aarohi also slowly fall in love with the Devil who loves her madly?
