SERIES - TIME MANAGEMENT – 11

Great Sayings by Great Persons

In this series of Time Management, we identified Characteristics of Time, concept of Time Management and how it shapes out to be Life Leadership, G-D-P (i.e. Goal, Direction and Process) of Time Management, and we identified six Time Wasters and two Time Savers, ultimate of Time Management – which is known as T/M Matrix and results-effects of each quadrant and lastly Roles and Goals and ultimate Framework of Time management, with new outlook.

We start with a rare communication which took place between a Guru and a Disciple, but the learning is important to know and digest, rather than mere words.

Guru (G): I cannot find time. Life has become hectic.

Disciple (D): Activity gets you Busy, but Productivity gets you free.

G: Why has life become so complicated now?

D: Stop analyzing life. It makes it complicated. Just live it.

G: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

D: Worrying has become your Habit, hence you are not happy.

G: Why do good people always suffer?

D: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go thru trials, but do not suffer. With that experience, their life becomes better, not bitter.

G: Do you mean to say that such experience is useful?

D: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She takes the test first and then teaches lessons.

G: Because of so many problems, we do not know where are we heading?

D: If you look outside, you may not know where you are heading. But look inside. Eyes provide sight, but heart provides the way.

G: Does failure hurt more than moving in the right direction?

D: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure decided by you.

G: In tough times, how do we stay motivated?

D: Always look at how far you have come, rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessings, and not what you are missing.

G: What surprises you about people?

D: When they suffer, they ask “why me?”, but when they prosper, they never ask “why me?”

G: How can I get the best out of life?

D: Face your past with regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

G: Last question. Sometimes I feel that my prayers are not answered.

D: There are no unanswered prayers. Keep faith and drop the fear. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Trust me - Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

In short, when Life of tests ends, the Tests of Life start! Remember, every day is gift and the quality of your life is your gift to yourself.

Now we shall have look at what other great people have to say about Time?

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”

“You can have it all. Just not all at once.”

“Don't waste your time with explanations: people only hear what they want to hear.”

“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”
― ,

“Time is an illusion.”

“Time is a created thing. To say 'I don't have time,' is like saying, 'I don't want to.”

“You may delay, but time will not.”

“The timeless in you is aware of life's timelessness. And knows that yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream.”
― ,

“There is more to life than simply increasing its speed.”

“The strongest of all warriors are these two — Time and Patience.”
― ,

“Three o'clock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do.”

“Lost Time is never found again.”
― ,

“Never waste a minute thinking about people you don't like.”

“Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time—past and future—the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is.”
― ,

“The past is a ghost, the future a dream and all we ever have is now.”

“Time is precious, but truth is more precious than time.”

“The best things are never arrived at in haste. God is in no hurry; His plans are never rushed.”

“The future starts today, not tomorrow.”

“Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.”
― ,

“When you are measuring life, you are not living it.”
― ,

“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”

“Enjoy life. There's plenty of time to be dead.”

“The best use of life is love. The best expression of love is time. The best time to love is now.”

“Time will explain.”
― ,

“Time moves slowly, but passes quickly.”
― ,

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you will ever have.”

“Time moves in one direction, memory another. We are that strange species that constructs artifacts intended to counter the natural flow of forgetting.”
― ,

“You forget, time doesn't exist anymore. You gave it to me.”
― ,

“Everyday is a bank account, and time is our currency. No one is rich, no one is poor, we've got 24 hours each.”

This reminds me a Hollywood movie named – “In Time”, where currency is in terms of Time consisting of Days, Hours and Minutes. A movie – worth watching.
