HISTORY DOES'NT REPEAT

"5 ... 4 ... 3 ..." the Monkey started the countdown, with some thrill in his voice. It was that moment of high pressure, tensed feeling, a fright running up the spine, a drop of sweat went down his neck gline.

This was what the Rabbit was feeling when he was getting prepared for the race with the Turtle. The DECISIVE race for earning their self respect, their dignity, their everything.

The race was with the Turtle. Both of them had agreed upon a CHALLENGE. Both of them had their self respect on bet. They were being watched by the elephant, the fox, the goose. Both of them had nothing to win but everything to lose.

"2 ... 1 ... GO!" the Monkey as the referee of the race started it, high excitement running in his veins and arteries. Maybe in everyone's, when both of the contenders with a jerk to their body and with their full power started the race.

It was just a duration of few seconds that the Rabbit started and simply WON! The Turtle, left behind, vulnerable, moving too slowly, quite a distance away from the finishing line, was thrown back by the results of the race. Nothing had went according to what he had thought would happen. He had lost.

Few hours earlier......

"I feel the day is boring, the same as every day. Nothing new to be thought about" said the Rabbit to himself. He was unaware of what his destiny was. For the time he was just wandering around. It was quite a humid day, the sky was bright with the Sun God's shine, but was going to get cloudy as this was the period of season changing from Hot Summers to Wet Monsoons.

The tropics of Hindustan, the land which experiences highly varied extreme geographical situations, usually have 36°C during this season. The canopies there give shade to the lives there during the Summers but also Tyndallise the Sun rays and show a beautiful scenario of the dawns and dusks.

As thirst encountered the Rabbit, he slowly started jogging towards the river for some water when he saw a Turtle. As the Rabbit crossed him, the Turtle called out to the Rabbit in a general greeting manner "Hey Quick Rabbit!". The kind Rabbit, still not mature enough to understand that one should not tease anyone, in his childish happy mood, unaware of what could happen just replied in the same way as the Turtle did "Hey Slow Turtle!".

Rabbit's this little mistake was what struck the Turtle hard in the mind, he was not able to bare that he was quoted slow and a joke was made of him, he became furious and got into a quarrel with the Rabbit. The Turtle argued with Rabbit for not talking with him in a repectful manner. While the Rabbit put his point that he had just spoken that on fun basis.

But the Rabbit was scolded by the Turtle, Turtle being elder kept on scolding him because of which the Rabbit got angry and finally demanded justice by challenging the Turtle for a race and the one who would win would be considered RIGHT. Quarrel ended with its own turn.

So as they had discussed, met under a banyan tree. A Monkey as is always expected in all the stories coming in between the topic like everything matters form him and as he is going to lose his everything, reaches up the tree to become the referee of the race.

"5 ... 4 ... 3 ..." the Monkey started the countdown, with some thrill in his voice. It was that moment of high pressure, tensed feeling, a fright running down the spine, a drop of sweat went down his neck gline.

"It is a warm day, a bit humid, a bit windless, nothing to worry about, but the success" this was what the Rabbit was feeling and was thinking when the countdown was going on and he was getting prepared for the race with the Turtle.

"2 ... 1 ... GO!" the Monkey as the referee of the race started it, high excitement running in his veins and arteries. Maybe in everyone's, when both of the contenders with a jerk to their body and with their full power started the race.

The Rabbit with his full speed went a quite a distance ahead, he suddenly stopped, looked back to the Turtle, when didn't find him, thought of taking some rest. It was just the time that his body was going to touch the ground when he remembered that few years ago, his Dad had done the same thing, in overconfidence, while he was racing similarly with a Turtle and thought of taking some rest in between the race because of which he had lost.

Simultaneously, the Turtle far behind, moving slowly compared to his own original speed, thought that few years ago, his Dad had also raced with a Rabbit while the Turtle's dad kept on moving slowly and steadily and the Rabbit slept because of which the Turtle's dad had won.

Both of the contender's dad had done this kind of race before also. And the Turtle's dad had won as we know the LEGENDARY story.

So the Turtle thought that he would also do the same as his father had did and predicted that all the Rabbits are same as one another and foolish like nothing.

But the Rabbit didn't stop and thought "I will do sleep but, this time after completing the race" and kept on running because of which he won. It was just a duration of few seconds that the Rabbit started and simply WON! The Turtle, left behind, vulnerable, moving too slowly, quite a distance away from the finishing line, was thrown back by the results of the race. Nothing had went according to what he had thought would happen. He had lost.........

MORAL : the Turtle lost because of his gall, as it's said pride comes before fall
