THE RAINBOW

# THE RAINBOW

After rain gets over, Rajesh was showing rainbow to his five years little daughter, sweety. Rani his wife , while watching them she went in flashback. she remembered the memories of her childhood. Rajesh asked Rani for dinner. After dinner sweety was sitting with her mother. Rani asked sweety to draw a picture of rainbow, and she brought paper, pencil and colours. She started but she was not able to do it properly ,just because of her immaturity. Somewhere she coloured very dark and somewhere very light. That's why the beauty of picture was lost.

While teaching her how to draw, Rani told her daughter about life. She said " Life is a painting , where we have to balance the colours of life, otherwise the beauty of painting will be lost. The different colours of life are love, anger, fear, daring, winning, losing and patience".

She explained her daughter about life by giving different examples like our parents love us very much but sometimes we don't obey them, and we may go on wrong path, so they have to show their anger. But their anger is for short time till we learn.

Rani added that as man is a social animal, he has happiness - sorrow, Winning and losing as a part of life . A human mind accepts positive things very fast , but he always has fear for negative things like fear of losing. And this fear never let him go ahead.

Rani explained sweety about fear by giving her an example of one duck.
one day duck told its baby to jump in water, but baby duck had a fear of water , and due to this fear baby duck was unable to learn swimming. To remove this fear the duck pushed her baby into water, which helped baby duck to learn swimming.
Rani explained sweety about dare by giving example of Rampur village. Rampur was a small village, at the edge of this village there was dilapidated palace. This palace was called ghost house. After 7 pm. nobody went near this palace. People of village believed that there lives ghost inside it. Now a story goes like this , A man came for research to the village two days before, and it happened like that, as the man came , there was a theft in village. So people of village suspected that man. So looking to the situation man decided to catch the theif. He dared to go inside the ghost house. When he went inside , he saw something different. He saw some cash and jewellery was there and theives were talking and laughing. He was watching this scene silently and recorded a video for same and showed it to villagers. Villagers with the help of police put a raid on ghost house and were able to catch the theives .So a man got free from charges of theft as well he was awarded with prize money. So this shows that dare of man helped him to prove himself innocent. So moral of this story was, we should never be afraid.

Habit of human mind is celebration in winning and crying in loosing. But we should also learn the patience, wait for passing of that phase or time. Every end has a new beginning. This Rani explained in such a beautiful way to sweety by giving this example. Once there was a farmer, he had four sons. They were always in quarrel with each other. one day when farmer was not well and was waiting for his death , he called his sons and informed them about the treasure he has in his farm. He said that " I have hidden the treasure between two trees, but I don't remember the exact location", while saying this he left this world. As they heard about the treasure, they went to farm to find that treasure, but the farm was big and they can't call the outsider to dig the farm, so they decided to forget their quarrel and started digging together the whole farm to find the treasure but at the end they didn't found any treasure and got disappointed. After some thinking they had an idea that as we have already ploughed the farm why not put seeds so that atleast they can have some benefit of their efforts. Soon rain came and by the grace of god. They got their treasure in the form a big harvest they got. So according to this story , they were hopeless, looser,angry, but they won by their hardwork and helping each other. So we should maintain the balance of colours in life , which makes the life beautiful.
Whole thing is stated beautifully in following Sanskrit Shloka:

"दु:खेष्वनुद्विग्नमना: सुखेषु विगतस्पृह: | वीतरागभयक्रोध: स्थितधीर्मुनिरुच्यते || "
Meaning: One whose mind remains undisturbed admist misery, who does not crave for pleasure and who is free from attachement, fear and anger is called a sage of steady wisdom.
