We shall not sit idly in helplessness;
Silence reigns outside, while a clamor rages within.
As if night has fallen in the light of day;
A profound darkness has settled deep inside.

Who steals fragrance in the name of butterflies?
Who quietly plucks flowers from the garden?
The maiden hears calls every single day;
Who is it that beckons her from afar?
There is someone who is ever-present everywhere;
Who is it that rouses the world from sleep at dawn?
Seeing the colorful fairies, one wonders:
Who creates such exquisite, queenly beauty?
This is not merely the mischief of the clouds;
Who makes the rain pour from the celestial glow?
For whom do you sit waiting idly all day long?
Who stays by your side throughout life in this world?
The earth sways, and the clouds of Sawan have gathered;
One wonders who adorns the world with such colors.

The lover must be drenched in the rain of Sawan;
Moistened by the showers of a sweet, tender touch.
Having immersed both body and soul in nature;
He must have turned flushed and crimson with bashful joy.
The cuckoo calls out, gazing at the passing clouds;
Hope must have enveloped the heart of the lovelorn woman.
Cupping hands to gather the splendor of the rain;
They must have savored these blissful moments.
Sawan is intoxicating; there is a heady spell in the raindrops, and the heart is captivated. One must have sipped the beauty of the wine-cup through one's gaze.

**Cloud (Badli)**
The procession of stars has hidden behind the clouds;
Without the moon and stars, this night feels desolate.
There were no signs of clouds anywhere;
It seems they have been imported from afar.
It rumbles recklessly all day, acting quite mad;
The state of the sky looks truly strange.
It sits atop high minarets, acting like a wild spirit;
It appears quite wise, yet one must exercise caution.
It is the queen of its own will—whether to rain down or turn to vapor;
Today, its emotions are beyond its own control.

O friend, adorn the courtyard; Kanha has come home,
And he has brought all his friends along too.
As if famished after days of hunger,
He sat and ate butter and rock sugar.
We had been longing for a glimpse for so long;
Radha, in her devotion, has finally found peace and solace.
Kanha came home to meet Yashoda;
Joy and jubilation have spread across all of Gokul.
We had yearned to hear those intoxicating melodies;
In delight, the flute has played a sweet raga.

Until yesterday we were strangers; today we are companions;
In the blink of an eye, Damini has become a guide.
Time often reveals such surprising days;
Those who were once arrogant have now become accessible.
Call it nature's craftsmanship or divine grace;
Parched deserts of sand turned into oceans in an instant.
One lacked the etiquette for social gatherings, yet—
After penning just a few verses, one became an artist.
Suddenly, many famous people gathered together, and—
Cities came alive with vibrant, colorful gatherings.

It is truly special within the *Ghazal*. The sweet fragrance suggests
that rain is nearby.
Live this very day to the fullest;

The moonlight is sad today
because the moon is hiding behind the clouds.
To take a single breath,
one must first exhale.
The quest for a beautiful life
has been ongoing for centuries.

no amount of charity alone fills the void.
Every action inevitably echoes back;
karma does not speak for itself.
Stop worrying about the fruits of your labor;
God's accounting is not visible to the eye.
One may walk with the caravan of the world,
yet a true companion is hard to find.
He remained foolish and blind to reason;
without love, the heart finds no solace.
Dreams keep visiting in slumber,
for that vision never fades from one's gaze.
When the time comes, the truth is spoken;
no one heeds another's words here.
