Sifarish - The Dairy - 3 - 2

Zareen laughed softly.

“Oh, Bhabhi, what are you saying? It has only been two days since your wedding, and there are still so many rituals left. You can work later—what’s the hurry? If I were in your place, I wouldn’t even step out of my room… and here you are thinking about work already!”

Slowly, a sense of comfort developed between them. Their conversation flowed naturally, and soon, a warm understanding and bond began to form.

Then, one day, in the middle of a casual conversation, Rizvi finally gathered the courage to ask,

“Zareen… if I ask you something, will you tell me the truth?”

Zareen frowned slightly, confused.
“What do you mean, Bhabhi? I don’t understand.”

Rizvi hesitated, her voice trembling slightly.

“I don’t know if I should even ask you this… but I really want to know… who is the girl in your brother’s heart? What is her name? If you know anything… please tell me. I promise I won’t tell anyone.”

Zareen took a moment before replying,
“Bhabhi… I heard about my brother’s affair almost two years ago from one of my classmates. But that relationship didn’t last long. That’s all I know… I don’t know anything beyond that.”

Just then, Rizvi’s mother-in-law walked in and asked what they were talking about.

Without missing a beat, Zareen quickly replied,
“We were talking about the garden. I’ve worked so hard on planting everything, haven’t I, Big Mom? And brother always used to ruin my hard work!”

Her mother smiled and said,
“Yes, you’re right. Now tell me, aren’t you both coming to eat?”

After saying that, she walked away.

Zareen turned back to Rizvi and asked seriously,
“Bhabhi… do you doubt my brother? Has he done something?”

At that moment, Rizvi could no longer hold herself together.
With tears in her eyes, she told Zareen everything.

She made her promise not to tell anyone in the family and said that when the right time came, she would take her own steps.

Then she held Zareen’s hand and said softly,

“Just stand by me… I need your support.”
After hearing everything, Zareen didn’t step back.

She wiped Rizvi’s tears and said firmly,
“I’m with you… in every step you take.”

With that, the two of them went inside together to eat.

The very next day was Saif and Rizvi’s reception.

The house was filled with guests. Everyone admired the couple and praised how beautiful they looked together.

Among the guests were some of Saif’s friends. One of them was his college friend—Firoz.

Firoz pulled Saif aside and asked in disbelief,
“Man… I still can’t believe you got married. How did this even happen? And what about you and Muskaan?”

Saif let out a bitter laugh.
“Huh… I can’t believe it myself. So how am I supposed to make you believe it? I never thought Muskaan wouldn’t trust me… not me.”

He paused, his expression hardening.

“And as for the breakup—I didn’t end it. She broke my heart.”

He continued, frustration evident in his voice,
“Tell me, Firoz, what was my mistake? I only proposed marriage to her. The moment she heard the word ‘marriage,’ she didn’t even listen to me completely and just walked away.”

“And now… I’m the one paying the price for it.”

“There was pressure from my family too. What was I supposed to do? So I got married… no… I was forced to.”

Firoz sighed and said,
“Look, Saif, I do feel bad for you… but what fault does your wife have in all this? She seems completely innocent to me.”

Saif laughed sarcastically.
“Innocent? Really? So I don’t look innocent to you? After everything I’ve been through?”
He smirked bitterly.

“It’s true what they say—do good, and you’ll suffer… do bad, and you’ll benefit.”

Firoz shook his head.
“I never said you were wrong. I’m just saying… your wife isn’t at fault either. Whether you accept it or not, fate has already been written.”

Standing at a distance, Zareen overheard their entire conversation.

At first, she felt disturbed… then thoughtful.
Without wasting any time, she went straight to Rizvi and told her everything.

Some time later…
Rizvi and Zareen came together—and made a plan.
